GUESS WHAT DAY IT IS? THAT'S RIGHT, WHITE COLLAR SEASON PREMIERE DAY!!!

Jan 17, 2012 23:42

I still haven't answered all my comments from the holiday ficathons, and I wasn't going to post until I had done that (hell, I didn't even do a Yuletide reveal or rec post, BUT I WILL EVENTUALLY), but WHITE COLLAR PREMIERE GETS A SQUEE ENTRY.

BECAUSE IT WAS LIKE THE CHRISTMAS WHERE YOU ASK FOR A PONY AND KNOW YOU WON'T GET IT BUT THEN YOU TOTALLY DO. It's like, your parents bring the pony INTO YOUR ROOM and IT NUZZLES YOU AWAKE and you're like OMG I CAN DIE HAPPY NOW.

I was half-dreading this episode, because, like I said before, there were so many ways it could go horribly, horribly wrong. I was very unsettled by the way things were going last season. I didn't want Peter to lose his shit at Neal, and I wanted Neal to stop lying, and I wanted Mozzie to... I don't know. Be human.

Well.

So, Peter did put Neal up against a wall for like, two seconds, and then he was Peter again, focused on dealing with what was in front of him.

Neal: "It's Elizabeth, Peter. No more lies."

Peter asking why Neal didn't leave New York. Neal saying, "You." Peter's eyebrow. "And Elizabeth." Pause. "And Sara, and Diana, and Jones, and the desk, and stepping off the elevator in the morning."

Mozzie and Estelle. Mozzie not even hesitating to walk into the FBI office, because it's Elizabeth.

and Peter. "Keller kidnapped Elizabeth, not you. Remember that." Oh, Peter. ♥♥♥♥♥

And the three of them working as a team. "The three of us need to be smarter than Keller."

AND ELIZABETH. BEING SO FUCKING SMART. Trying to use the FBI playbook on Keller.

"Peter and Neal are going to kick your ass."

Then, switching her plan to the other guy once Keller is gone, totally psyching him out. I loved her little details, too - shivering, while the guy was sweating. Using her diamond ring to weaken the glass and breaking herself out! AAAAAAAHHHHHH I was doing the Tom Cruise couch-jumping thing, almost, I was so happy. ;_;

The guys discussing all the things they wanted to do to Keller - Peter just plain old wanted to beat his face in, while Mozzie preferred traditional torture methods.

Mozzie caring about Elizabeth... and Peter.

Elizabeth, about Neal being in Keller's clutches: "Go get him. Then come back to me."

Neal with his gladiator shield was totally dorktastic and awesome.

Peter tackling Keller from the side was just plain awesome.

Neal being prepared to confess, and Peter appreciating it.

And I was not expecting what happened at the end, with Neal's probation, and I kind of feel a little squidgy about it, and I bet Neal and Peter do, too. That is going to make for a VERY interesting season as the episodes lead up to the hearing, and I am totally psyched and excited.

So, in conclusion, the show writers turned in what I feel is an excellent wrap-up to the old storyline (goodbye, and good riddance, honestly - Neal playing Peter was too much stress for me) and a strong introduction to the new storyline.

And no one made Neal eat lemon chicken all by himself in a corner. The end.
