Puppies and momma dog looking for new homes

Do you want a sweet, adorable bundle of joy in your home? My friend hireath has puppies that need new homes. Their momma needs a new home, too. The puppies have had their first visit to the vet, and I think their first vaccination shots. They're not quite yet weaned, but you could still pick one out now

They have different dads? Are they the same litter? My mind boggles!

All animals that have litters (as far as i know) are capable of having puppies in the same litter fathered by different individuals.

Imagine the bitch is out loose somewhere in heat and is bred by several different males--not too uncommon. Since there are a pile of eggies floating around waiting to be fertilized and several dogs' sperm swimming about seeking, it's just a matter of which sperm gets to which eggs first.

Apparently the momma dog was extremely loose all over Socorro -- thus many different kinds of puppies. There were also two that looked like their dad was a rottweiler. riotgrrlscout and djsparkydog are taking those two, but you can see their pics in hireath's journal.

The puppies are so cute and so fun to play with. I have no time to own a dog, but it was such a treat to go play with them.

It looks like out of eight puppies (2 of which hireath is keeping, and two of which are going to riotgrrlscout and djsparkydog) there were at least three dads.

* pyranese
* rottweiler

I'd guess there might've been a fourth dad, too.
