At first
I Love Egg seems like just another weird Korean animation.
But the more I watched it,
the more I realized that it was the eggs themselves singing about the joy of consuming eggs. Why do they advertise themselves as yummy.
Then there's the whole issue of confusing love with food. This song reminds me of the song they sing on Barney the Dinosaur. It's an awful lot of love for a few hard-boiled eggs to deal with.
And what's with all the costumes? If eggs are so lovely all on their own why must they dress up as a coach, a rainbow, a teddybear, a flower, a jester, a strawberry, a superhero, an airplane, a bomb, a devil, an angel, ninjas, a savage, a porcupine, a sundae, a western person, hula dancers? Should we really encourage babies to suck on eggs? That could lead to a nasty bout of botulism.
That's to say nothing of the racist subtext of loving the white egg (but not, apparently, the brown ones, let alone the blue or green ones).
