Gideon, meanwhile, is sitting inside with them. He is oddly quiet and wearing a frown, obviously displeased with the whole situation.

[Xanth fidgets and chews on his lip. He's standing nearby, twiddling and picking at his fingers.]

[Gideon looks up.]

[It's a statement, not a question. He saw your thread with Jinx.]

[His tone shows that he knows fully what that will entail for him.]

[That's exactly what Xanth expected to hear, and exactly what he wanted not to. He wraps his arms around his chest and swallows a lump in his throat.]

Don't -- you-- y-you don't have--have to. N-Not f-for-- for-- for me.

Yeah... I kind of do. Wouldn't be able to live with myself if I just sat by while you were in trouble.

[There is a knock on the door- if one were perceptive, one could probably assume from its hesitance that the person doing the knocking was looking at the door's immense size and trying not to freak out]

[Gideon looks up at the knocking. His first instinct is to crack it open and see who it is--then he realizes that no one with mal-intent could have gotten past Ironhide without them hearing some struggle.

[She catches a glance at the mess behind him.]
