Drinking the blood that Sergei's had to offer was not high on Godric's present list of favourite things. The similarities it shared with human blood ended at it possessing the correct amount of plasma proteins and the warmth it had gained from the microwave, even if it was a step above the ubiquitous TruBlood, in that it retained the human element. It had the stale taste that came from blood too long left in open air, and the texture of having been coagulated and stirred anew. It was nothing he would have subjected himself to on his own world.
But he wrapped his fingers around the mug, regardless. He had almost certainly drank worse. Rotten, clotting blood, sharp and sick with disease came to mind. Even if it had been of a like taste, he would have endured it as necessary. Brief distaste was not to be rivaled by his desire for equality with the boat's denizens.
It was one of those denizens that he awaited. Their first meeting had been a pleasant one, if you overlooked the circumstances of its initiation. But Vie had shown herself to be a rational woman - if curious, and it was that curiosity he stood now to satiate.
