Erol paused, ears twitching minutely as he tried to catch a hint of ... whatever had caught his attention in the first place. He hadn't even properly heard it. Deck 9 was quiet at the best of times, only a few bookworms in and out of the library, that sort of thing. But now all he could catch was the faint sound of the ocean from the doors that led out to the "lifeboats."
He was... pretty sure that had been nothing. The whine of electricity...
Just in case, he instinctively altered course. It would be more difficult to get cornered if he cut through the Gallery rather than the narrow hallway by Nirvana and the library, both of which were dead-ends.
