Bryn had been exploring the inexplicable rain forest of deck three. She wasn't quite sure where everything came from, how it existed and thrived where it did, but she was pleased nonetheless by this small slice of nature. The closest thing to her old home on this entire ship ( ... )

He looked at utter peace, not tormented in his own nightmares from gruesome memories or figmentations that the mutt would make for kicks. The moon's light reflecting against that touchless, pale skin.

Although his slumber did not last for long.

As soon as he felt a sudden weight on the lower half of his body, the albino's eyes opened quite quickly, dispite the glossy haze that blurred his vision.

Just what was that...?

"Hey.... I'm not some rug..."

Bryn lifted her head long enough to look him straight in the eye, a look that clearly said Yes, you are.

Figuring that conveyed her message clearly enough, she tucked her head back in against his hip and shifted to lay on her side more than her stomach.

Although she would have liked to fall asleep right then, she wasn't sure how he was going to react now that he was awake and knew she was there. Her eyes remained open, though she rested, and while she wasn't tense in anticipation, she was completely focused on remaining aware of the one she rested on.

That stare only got a blank, groggy one in return. After a quick rub of the eyes, the albino frowned.

"Get off of me before I decide to throw you off. I'm not letting you get the upper hand for a third time in a row."

Although, he didn't move to do it. Instead, he let a pale hand rest on top of that furry head, between the ears. A small hint of sorrow in his voice.

"...At you have it lucky."

The idea of the pale man throwing her off his lap amused Bryn and she flashed him a feline sort of grin. It amused her enough that she didn't mind his hand on her head so much.

So she purred...yawned once, and purred again. The warmth of another body against hers was something she hadn't enjoyed since she was very young.

Hearing him say she had things good, lucky even, was surprising though. She might have been acclimating to things but wasn't she on this ship as well? That alone might have indicated a lack of luck, even if someone didn't know her family past.

There was a small, sad smile on his face, slightly amused by the yawn. He glanced out to the water once more.

"You don't have to deal with being a science freak, a stalker sibling who isn't related by blood, a sister who is also not related by blood that should be dead but exsists..." He takes a breath, rubbing his temples slightly. "You probably don't even understand what the hell I'm saying. I'm talking to a cat of all things!"

If cats could shrug, she might have. She didn't really know if she had it lucky. After all, her family had been horrified at what she'd turned into. They'd tried to hide her from the rest of the world like some skeleton in the closet. Her own brother had only seen fit to help her leave months and months later, and only because life would be easier for him if she were gone.

Having no way to convey sympathy or roll her eyes at all of his complications, she rolled back a bit and lifted a paw...touched it to his cheek a bit harder than she'd intended, and then let it down again to rest across his body on the armrest of the deck chair.

She was a cat perhaps but she understood exactly what he was saying.

At the 'swat' as it could be called, the albino's face was turned a bit to the side before he looked back down at the sprawled out she-cougar on his lap.

"...Tch. I already give myself enough punishment as is." Why was he continuing to speak? "I don't need additional help."

There was some silence before he ended up scoffing, moving his unpinned arm to the neck bandage. "...Shut up."

Bryn flashed another grin, a flash of sharp pointy teeth that could be seen as somewhat disturbing...If she could laugh perhaps she would, especially because he was telling a silent cat to shut up.

Still, her sleepy logic concluded that if he punished himself enough as it was, perhaps he needed the opposite. Bryn nuzzled her head against his stomach.

One thing was for sure, sleeping on top of the man's legs had been an excellent choice, even if he didn't care for her company. She was perfectly warm in a way that made her content, but not overheated. Sleep wasn't an option as long as he talked to her, and it was probably for the best anyway.

Eventually her weight would probably put his legs to sleep...

The albino had a grin just as bad, close to the Cheshire Cat if they ever met. He wasn't telling her to be silent but the being in his neck ring. He was soon pulled away from uttering another curse when he felt her fuzzy skull brushing against his t-shirt and most likely pushing it up.

"Are you enjoying the view?"

Like he needed to be molested further... As for the weight against his legs, it was starting to drain the feeling out of it, but it wouldn't take long for him to recover.

Taking a moment, Bryn considered what he said, and then looked up at him, and down again. Hm...

Experimentally, she nuzzled her head again, noticing the shirt was indeed riding up, exposing the skin of his belly. Her eyes had a peculiar gleam in them and she looked up at him once more.

Flicked her tongue against his stomach.

It was only so long she could hold off on pushing his buttons after all. If she didn't have the back of his neck to make him squirm, well then...this would work quite well.

"Cut that out." He hissed, moving that only free arm to push her head away from his navel area. "My body isn't cat nip."

He was so tempted to grab her tongue and maybe make a snide remark of 'I guess the dog has the cat's tongue after all' but refrained from doing so.

Bryn huffed, looking up at him. Who does he think he's kidding? Best cat-toy I've found. Not cat nip. Hah.

Letting her stubborn streak get the better of her, she rubbed her head against his stomach again, deliberately making the shirt ride up.

His reactions made him so delightful to tease, and it was especially fun doing so while he was trapped at her mercy. Eventually she'd let him up but not just yet.

He promptly tugged down his shirt after pushing her head away again. A small sign of annoyance flickering in to view.

"...You've over stayed your welcome."

Without another word, he started to shift a little, managing to slick his other arm out before grappling the cougar to move off. It was a bit shocking considering how little of muscle and how thin the albino was to be able to lift her with ease. Not long after picking her up, he had place her back down against the floor while glaring.

The moment her paws hit the ground, Bryn was turning toward the albino, still leaning over, and knocking him back into the chair with a butt of her head. She followed the motion through and jumped on him, front paws on his shoulders, claws extended, back paws on his thighs. She snarled--

--and the legs of the deck chair gave out. The wood cracked, split, and the seat fell to the ground.

Bryn stood there a moment, still pinning the man to the chair, shocked that the chair had broken beneath them...The fall had been as abrupt as his picking her up and setting her on the deck.

Still, she recovered quickly and licked his forehead and bangs. Nice try. You're stronger than I thought but not quick enough this time.

That's probably her expression right now. sonotyourdog December 8 2008, 11:09:44 UTC
Well he wasn't expecting the head butt but should have seen the tackle coming. Of course, he was forced in to the chair and to slam straight in to the floor.

"Gak..."

That hurt a little bit, but the albino continued to glare even if his shoulders were in a bit of pain from her claws burrowing themselves in to his shirt fabric & pale skin.

He didn't appricate the sudden grooming of his forehead -- causing him to shut one eye -- and white hair. This was a cat thing and he was a dog.

"Keh~ Maybe she's that attracted to you, but then again, you're not fit for anyone. You either kill them or pretend you care for them." The mutt would laugh. "Do you want me to tear her apart?~"

"...Tch. No.... Shut up and get lost." He didn't care if Byrn overheard.
