"Because," Remy said, playfully tilting his glass into Van's face just a bit too much, "I don't trust anyone else to do it and before you say a word, Marco's not feeling well."
He put his free arm around Vanyel and settled back into his seat.
"I might," He teased, and gave his lover a long grin.
Oh, too easy.
Van ducked his head and continued, before Remy's protests could get properly started, "And before you ask, it was meant for your birthday, but...well, with all that was going on, just then, I'd forgotten."
"Ahh...one hint, and you may ask one question, which I will answer truthfully," he allowed. 'Put up with,' indeed, Van would have been all but lost without him, "The hint is this; it fits perfectly in a pocket."
Van shook his head, and laughed, leaning over to kiss Remy's cheek as he drew out the gift, wrapped in a plain white handkerchief, "Here, stop moping. Much good may it do you, you lush."
"Explain to me again," he groused, reaching to steal a sip of Remy's punch, "Why you'll be pouring drinks at a party in your honour?"
Oh, well, at least there were going to be drinks.

He's wearing white, and you're a cruel, terrible man. The glare fades when he's settled in, and Van wipes the excess punch on a napkin.
"My congratulations then, on surviving another year. Is this a gift-giving occasion?"
Reply
"No, I don't expect it to be. Why? Did you have something?"

"Van, if that's what you intend to give me, it's hardly a new gift and we probably shouldn't here."

"Lewd," He accused, sourly, "You know what I meant."
Reply
"All right, all right. Is it something I can wear?"

He looked excited as he unwrapped and smiled upon seeing the flask. Reading its inscription caused him to burst into laughter.
"Van, I love it. Thank you."
TWO FLASKS! He now had two flasks. The possibilities were endless.
