Veld had found it far too easy to make a shiv. Of course, he'd had to implement one before, and practice made perfect. And Redd had left him such a neat umbrella. Ripping the top off of the item left it's point that was quite easy to sharpen. The open action would assist a twist and make rib breaking fairly easy. He broke off the other handle and then made his way to the seventh deck. Danny's room was easy to find and while Veld felt mildly bad, he'd never let morality bother business in the past.
He lifted his normal hand and knocked with two loud raps on the door. That done, he leaned against the wall so he would be next to Danny when he opened the door. All he needed was a clear shot to the ribs. Then the mess would be over and they could all move on with life.
