Well. That could have gone better, Barricade thought.  My own slaggin' fault, too.  Had something I just had to prove, didn't I?

Was it worth it, Barricade?  You find out enough about this ( Read more... )

*pretends Marco's last talk with Godric was somehow between sparring log and this* ntjstapwn July 8 2010, 03:59:50 UTC
Barricade probably didn't need to worry about Marco getting the Autobot party line shoved down his throat. He was a bit more likely to listen to Ratchet and Bumblebee than Ironhide, but already knew how stubobrn the weapons master was. And thus how unlikely he was to give anything he had an issue with leeway. Though Marco wasn't very likely to trust what Barricade said either.

He wasn't one to listen to anyone's advice without giving it a lot of thought anyway.

Marco's reply came as he headed to the gym. "Barricade, right? I'll be right there."

He shows up outside the gym a few minutes later, sighing slightly. Marco'd seen a lot of the gym lately.

yay for jiggered timeline? fracturefall July 8 2010, 04:12:38 UTC
Barricade looked down at this Marco character. First impressions and all that. Marco did not look that impressed to see him, meaning, of course, that he had doubtless seen the Autobots before. And thus, heardthings. Great. Barricade? Your luck was at least consistent. Just...consistently bad.

Well, time to get the preliminaries out of the way.

"You some sort of vampire, too?"

He needed to know what else he was up against. Besides Autobot propaganda.

It makes sense. Roy and I basically played that meeting like it was shortly after sparring ntjstapwn July 8 2010, 04:20:53 UTC
Yep, Marco was not at all surprised to see the giant, unhappy mecha. In his mind that put Barricade in a similar grouping as Ironhide, but there was no way he'd be telling either that.

He gives Barricade a wave as he approaches and shakes his head at the question. "Just a normal human."

Well, not-so-normal at the moment...but he wasn't one to volunteer that information.

cool! fracturefall July 8 2010, 04:28:44 UTC
Barricade doesn't trust Marco's word, if for no other reason than it seemed REALLY slaggin' unlikely that Godric's most trustworthy would be 'just a normal human.'

But he wasn't about to let Marco know that...yet. If Marco thought there was some value in being underestimated, so did Barricade.

He shrugged. "Just a normal Decepticon," he said, blandly. "You know where we're going?"

Godric asked Marco to do it then, anyway, so makes sense that it was before this ntjstapwn July 8 2010, 04:33:23 UTC
And yet it was true; physically--aside from the power up lately--Marco was a normal human. His past was a bit abnormal, but he wasn't one to talk about that.

Though Marco did find being underestimated rather useful at times.

"I'm afraid I don't know much about Cybertronians." He shrugs, then shakes his head. "No. Godric just told me you or he would call on me. Wherever Rachet is...we can always call for him if you don't know where to meet him."

That Godric is like scary-organized! fracturefall July 8 2010, 04:51:05 UTC
"Oh," Barricade said, breezily, "just your standard giant alien robot thing. Surely, if you've been on the boat a while, you've seen others?"

That was so not Barricade fishing for information. Except, of course, that it was.

Barricade rocked on his footplates. Have Marco contact Ratchet, or himself. One way, he looked pathetic and needy in front of Ratchet while the human looked on. And possibly got rejected. The other way....

"Maybe you'd better contact him. You look...tactful."

That's what Marco likes about him :3 ntjstapwn July 8 2010, 04:59:25 UTC
"I've seen the others. We just haven't interacted much." Sadly, Marco had very little information to give on the subject. His only real interactions with the transformers were publicly available over shipNET.

"Hopefully Godric's mentioned it to him already, but alright." Marco shrugs and fishes his comm out again. He sends out a quick message, filtered to Ratchet, asking if he's available to speak with about possibly repairing 'someone.'

Godric is awesome. And unfortunately strong. :c fracturefall July 8 2010, 05:08:28 UTC
"Yeah well, probably not missing much, there," Barricade said. His own interactions with the Autobots had been...less than hospitable. Ah such wonderful Autobot open-mindedness. He'd reached out to them, and they'd responded with hostility.

And they blame us for the war, he thought. And its continuation. Pitifully naive.

He stood, feeling more than a little stupid, as Marco made the comm. Like he was too incompetent to do it himself. Or afraid. He wasn't afraid. It was just...strategy.

Nonetheless, he winced, trying NOT to imagine Ratchet's response. Anywhere from gloating to flat denial. What would happen if Ratchet refused? Worse, what if he agreed?
