Cyrus's thought process was similar to Castiel's: there was a way off of this boat. He knew people left before, but he also knew that those who did, died.
Cyrus, however, is a natural skeptic. He couldn't accept such an answer without first doing some research of his own. He found nothing on any of the other decks except for some food-serving bears on one and massive bees on another.
Not a very productive day, to be quite honest.
The library was the natural other alternative, but even after a long search, he found little that could be called useful. What he found, instead, was a human sitting at a table, books piled in front of him. He doesn't go up to Castiel immediately, but when he speaks up, he's standing at a bookshelf nearby.
The corner of Cyrus's mouth quirks up in a half-smile. "Hmm. I was looking for the same thing. Pity that neither of us have found anything."
The mention of spells piques his curiosity. He walks up to Castiel's arrangement and fingers the binding of one of the books. "Spells, you said? Find anything interesting, at least?"
"I had a feeling it would not be so simple. I wish it were, though."
Castiel's eyes had fallen back to the book he had been reading. He frowned and closed it, putting on a stack on the table. "I have mostly been researching spells in ancient Greek and Enochian. There are many interesting rituals and spells, but many of them are useless in my current task."

"Working on something?"

He glanced at the open books laying on the table in front of himself, "As you can see, it's not going well."
