The Coup ~eighth descent~
As the passengers come upon this deck, they should find it familiar; after all, it is a residential deck much like the ones they inhabit. However, it is bleak and undecorated, cold and unwelcoming. Bare light bulbs -- many of which have burned out -- flicker overhead.
On the port side is an enormous fish tank where one would expect to find rooms.
On the starboard side is another tank, though it is not filled with water. Gas masks hang from the wall next to the airlock door, and a poster stuck to the tank proclaims: "OXYGEN AND HEAVY-CO2 BREATHERS USE ENCOUNTER SUITS OR RESPIRATORS BEYOND THIS POINT. METHANE CONCENTRATION EXCEEDS 15.8%" Below it is a handwritten warning: "Ojalá que se mejore pronto!!!!!!"
From further down the deck, quiet voices can be heard, engaging in comfortable conversation.
