As the red mass slithers away through the bowels of the boat, passengers who took the deal will vanish as well.

The Captain turns to James LaPointe, the heron at his side; he's furious. "Fool. The doctor doesn't reply, and the rest of the crew, clearly shaken, remain silent but for Redd's First Mate ( Read more... )

Fucking Loa, finally this is over, and he managed to make it through alive. He doesn't even have the strength to hold his sword anymore and it clatters to the floor from his limp hand. The cots are right there in front of him. He just needs to get there.

When Kevas tries to take the step forward his legs turn to wet noddles and he pitches forward onto the floor. The troll is out like a light.

Amazingly, Sarea isn't all that hurt. If anything, she's just a bit stunned by everything, but mostly at being suddenly dumped on a different deck filled with injured people and cots.

She's not to incredibly stunned to not notice Kevas passed out where he is, however. Sarea sighs and pushes herself up with a wince, figuring she should at least try to get him on a cot, since he pretty much saved her ass back at the 'party'. He's lighter then he normally was, certainly, but she's still human to, and he's knocked out, so it takes her a while to manage to half-lift him under a shoulder and get him to a cot, but she manages, immediately sinking down on the floor beside the cot and panting.

"Sleep well, Kevas." is all she can manage to mumble before passing out herself.

By the time Vie finds Kevas, he's quite possibly awake again. She's not moving quite as smoothly as usual and her side is heavily bandaged. At the sight of her brother, Vie can't help but feel relieved and tired as she is, she smiles at him.

"Kevas."

He's definitely awake. Beaten, broken, and bloody, but definitely awake. If he had the strength he's be on his feet and crushing her in his arms, but for now he'll settle with a bright smile.

"Joo be a sight fuh sore eyes sweetheart."

Well that was... not pleasant at all. But it also means that everything that just happened hits Roll like a sack of bricks, which is a bad thing as she only manages to make it to one of the many sinks, the broom she had been using for support clattering to the floor before she loses it.

It being whatever food she had eaten since the party, although it's not much. And it's proof to her that she's still human as well.

"Roll?"

Castiel comes up beside her, covered in blood and clenching a short sword tightly in his right hand. He reaches out with his free hand, but stops right before touching her.

The voice is familiar, although Roll was hoping just a little that it was someone else, and it's not unwelcomed at least. Once she's done the robot girl turned human is just going to sink to the floor and lean against the cabinet.

She's bloody but not as injured as she looks, thanks to Nel's healing, as she turns to look at Castiel and...

Weakly flings herself at the older man and starts crying.

Castiel drops his sword so he can catch Roll, sliding down to sit against the cabinet. Almost unconsciously, he pulls her close and just holds her as she cries.

He sighs quietly, exhausted, and just rests his head against Roll's.

Odette wakes with a start. The last thing she remembers is being in a lot of pain, overwhelming, brain breaking pain. Everything appears to be in order. Except for one tiny little detail.

Why

is

she

naked?

She isn't alone, either. Phoenix appears not five feet away, bleeding from multiple cuts and lacerations courtesy of the cardinals' beaks. He blinks, startled by the sudden transition.

Then he blinks again.

"Odette?"

She's gingerly wrapping the blanket on the cot around her. When she hears Phoenix's voice she's much quicker about it.

"Phoenix! You're okay. Thank goodness." She's a mix of relief and embarrassment.

The blanket, while offering her a modicum of modesty, isn't enough to hide the fact that she isn't wearing as much as she normally does. Phoenix's eyes go to her smooth, bare legs, then up to the blanket. It isn't difficult to realize that she's probably quite naked.

Flushing slightly, he clears his throat. "Are you all right? Were you harmed in the...?" Attack? Was that even the right word for it?

Sleep.

For the first time in seven years, Karis is actually going to sleep.

[The sound of people- just people, not entirely chaos as it had been before, slowly filters into her field of sense. The next is that it's cold- Not in a bad sort of cold, just that whatever she's lying on is chilled, room temperature perhaps, but not warm enough to keep her satisfied.]

[Her vision is the last to kick in, colors and shapes puzzling out of the blackness that bogs her down. Everything aches as if she hadn't moved in days, limbs stiff- She wants to roll over, but the effort in doing so just seems so out of reach.]

[Then the memories come back in a flood, and suddenly she feels violently ill, body jerking to the side as stomach muscles contract to expel... nothing. Just dry heaves, tears prickling into the corners of her eyes. The birds.. The horrible, sudden chaos that erupted out of seemingly nowhere. The blood, the horrible sounds- she hadn't been able to find anyone. What had happened? Had she passed out? -No. Something else. Something worse ( ... )

[Sokka sees Katara from clear across the room, and as exhausted as he is, as sore as he is, he-- he has to be next to her. No matter what. He has to be next to her.

He can't run, his half-deafness and splitting headache have created a serious sense of vertigo, but he eventually makes it to her, yanking a blanket off a nearby cot to tug around her shoulders. His voice comes out in a quiet croak.]

K-katara. Hey, w-welcome back.

[He's smiling when he hits his knees next to her, as miserable and sick as he feels, he's happy. His little sister's okay. She's fine. Katara's alive, and that's all that matters in this second.]

[It feels so surreal. Like everything she's watching, listening to is muted. As if she's half submerged under water, and all she can hear is soft lull and ebb of noise. She might even have missed Sokka, had he not gotten so close- made contact and dropped the blanket over her shoulders. It doesn't completely pull her out of her reverie, but it certainly helps.]

I left. [It's sort of a question, but more of a statement. Was that really what it felt like to die? She can barely remember. It was just hurt and noise and then nothing. And then here. Like she'd fallen asleep, almost. But... it was deeper, thicker than that ( ... )

[Sokka gives a pained, sleepy sort of chuckle, pulling her forward a bit and pausing.]

Wait. That's-- hold on.

[He shakily gets up and shifts around her, sitting on her opposite side, and pulls her close, so her head can rest on his non-bloodied shoulder.]

And, this way I can sort of hear you.

[Everything he's saying is half-murmured.]

I'm not going anywhere, though. I might need to sleep soon, though. Bad night.
