Now that I am in a gallery officially, i am getting ready to put together what I need for taxes, stuff like that, i have already sold some prints, and if one of my paintings sells, my art will becomne an official source of income

Man do I relate. I am still putting Bantam on hold because I haven't finished the second book yet and they want to see it before they agree to publish the first one. *sigh*

It is a scary thing to make money doing something you like. If you don't sell anything you feel like you're not good enough, if you do sell you feel like one of those annoying sell-out pop stars from the early 90s. Sugar, I would like to offer you some words of wisdom here,

because you feel nerves over this, you could never be a sell out. Make your art the important thing, the expression. Either they like it and want it or they don't. The art is the important thing.

I NEVER expected BANTAM FUCKING PUBLISHING HOUSE to be interested in my work. I just do it because I love to. It's the same for you, isn't it? Write or Art or Sing or whatever because you feel the "muse." To do it for any other reason isn't right. And you have more creativity in you than anyone I know. You can do this. This art deserves to be seen by others, it deserves attention, and so do you so don't feel guilty for success. Success is the end result of talent + smarts + effort. I believe in you and I know you'll be fine.
