Cat Legal Update
Today Maeghann & I finally filed the court summons to get the legal process rolling on the return of her cat. To recap: She left her cat Jaspar with a lady she knew from work back in 2010, while she moved and got settled. On May 31 of this year she asked for her cat back, and got a whole load of verbally abusive crazy as a response. The person who has the cat has flipped a lid, or something... The police are unable to do anything unless with take the matter to court and get a judge's order. Although when we filed the stolen property report with the SPD, the responding officer told us we should just steal the cat back. Believe me, I've thought about it. Something tells me the path of legality is the one we should take, though.
So today we completed phase I. It took us almost 2 months, over half of that time was learning exactly what we needed to do next. But we did it. Now we just wait for the proof of service to come back, and take it from there.
By the way - I have a very strong connection to cats, as does Maeghann. Stealing a cat is well beyond the "Line" for me.
