In a local café at a secluded table for two sat Wakashi, he was sipping gently at his tea and in front of him sat a plate with a slice of cake left relevantly untouched. Across from Wakashi sat a very annoyed Rinji

Amanda followed a waitress past Wakashi's table and to the next available one. She smiled at the waitress and plopped herself down in the seat where she could see the rest of the room most easily, her green eyes full of suspicion as she looked around. Satisfied that she didn't spot any immediate threats, she looked at her menu. She muttered something in Italian before digging out her kanji dictionary.
"Stupid Japanese having so many stupid characters that anyone from someplace else has to carry around this god-forsaken gigantic book!" she muttered, flipping though the kanji dictionary. She still was having difficulties reading Japanese.
Wakashi was intrigued when a blond girl waltzed by her long hair catching his attention. He always noticed a girl with long beautiful hair, he watched as she sat down and looked around possibly looking for someone he wasn't too sure.
He finished up the last of his tea and paid his bill before his attention fell back on the blond girl and noticed the book and her struggling. It clicked the assumption that she was possibly a foreigner and might have needed help, Waka never denied anyone help.
As he got up and headed over to her and cleared his throat some as not to startle her when he started speaking. "Not to intrude but did you need some help?" he asked with a friendly smile.
Amanda looked up at Wakashi, big green eyes holding surprise with just a bit of panic. "Help would be lovely....I can't seem to read the menu." she said, a slightly sheepish smile coming to her lips. Since she didn't recognize Wakashi, she didn't bother with her usual dumb blond act she used in school. Her smile was sheepish and embarrassed looking, but not giving the impression of stupidity or the idea that she was simply clueless.
"I've been here about half a year now....but I still have problems with Kanji. Too many characters for my poor American head to wrap around. 26 letters is so much easier." she said. She had very good pronunciation, but her voice was flavored with a slight southern Japan accent as well as American for anyone with the ear to hear it.
"Ah so you are American I would have guessed Eurpean, thats where my step mother is from and you resemble my new sister a bit. Oh well guess Americans are a bit of everything. If it helps I am pretty fluent in English you your speaking Japanese is pretty good so I doubt you'd have a hard time following me." Wakashi sat down and picked up the menu.
"Alright since it is a cafe I am assuming you want a drink so lets try and limit down our choices, do you want tea or coffee thats what you Americans like right?"
