What a day!

Mum and I were planning to go down to Gran's today to try and persuade her that she needed daily care, of some description. Half way down, we heard that she'd fallen again, and had been carted off to Chichester hospital for assessment. I'm sorry to hear about the fall, but hopefully now she'll get the attention she needs.

Old pictures are fascinating. After I went to France a few weeks ago my Dad dug out pictures of my grandparents visiting the same area in the 1920s - it's fascinating to see them as young people enjoying themselves on holiday.

They really are. I brought home a big carrier bag full of photos, to scan them all when I get a week free! Everything from family holidays to family pets, weddings, school photos, and an album full of Grandad's photos that he took in Germany in the war, all the places he went to, lots of photos of his fellow soldiers relaxing and enjoying precious time off, all labelled with names and ranks - I wish I could find their families and share the pics!

Check for a Regimental Old Comrades Association and failing that try the British Legion who may be able to help.

In the highly unlikely event you run into an Eric Kennett... (He was definitely in Germany, but then so were a large part of the British Army.)
