Loneliness is always worse when I have someone to miss. Oh well. That's the price I pay for falling for an older guy who lives in south Jersey. I knew what I was getting into. Speaking of the devil, last weekend was a lot of fun. Nobody hated him, nobody died, the Beckers managed to fix their screen door. In fact, he was so universally well-liked it made me kind of suspicious - and nervous. I hope I go over that well with his friends and family when I meet them in a couple of weeks.
The other night, I watched Mrs. Henderson Presents. It was pretty good. I felt, however, that the warning about nudity should have been more explicit. To include beautiful naked women when they're important to the plot and completely not a surprise is one thing; completely unannounced and totally unwarranted full-frontal Bob Hoskins is quite another. As I've often said, there are some things you can't unsee.
I've been wasting quite a lot of time this week. I decided to take up knitting again largely because I have nothing else to do. I've also resumed watching Bleach largely because watching the musicals has renewed my interest in the show, but also because there really isn't anything else I want to watch and so that I can get to the recently begun filler arc, in which there appears a character voiced by Hikaru Midorikawa. Damn voice actors! I've also decided that the next thing I write will be a parodical romance novel set in a locale that I think is one of literatures finest untapped resources: 19th century Canada. Just think of it: a noble mountie, a dashing French fur-trapper, a lumberjack's young widow, and the beautiful daughter of a Toronto banker entangled in a steamy love polygon in the frozen north - so many opportunities for beaver-related puns and ample, heaving bosoms in sexy flannel lingerie!!
