Gerard Butler has joined Nicholas Cage for
The Untouchables: Capone Rising, to be directed by Brian DePalma. GB.Net had confirmed that Gerard will portray the young Irish cop, Jimmy Malone (a part that garnered Sean Connery an Oscar). Cage will play the young Al Capone. The film, to be produced by Ryan Kavanaugh's Relativity Media, will focus on the early dealings between Capone and Malone. Principal photography will begin in October.
The announcement was made at Cannes, where Gerard made a short appearance to say how "unbelievable" the script was. (Paramount has domestic on the movie.)
My dad love this kind of movie..I don´t... But I´ll watch it because of Gerry. =D
And another one!
Gerard has been cast in Lakeshore Entertainment's Game. This " high-concept thriller takes place in the near future, when mind-control technology has taken society by storm. In this dystopian world, the ultimate online simulation environment is humans remote-controlling other humans in mass-scale, multiplayer online gaming." The film will be written and directed by "Crank" creators Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor and plans to begin filming in January 2008.
According to the article, "Lakeshore will introduce "Game" to international buyers at the Festival de Cannes along with the Penelope Cruz-Ben Kingsley starrer "The Dying Animal," the Luke Wilson vehicle "Henry Poole Is Here" and "Pathology.""
Gerard will play Kable, the No. 1-ranked warrior in the highest-rated game, called "Slayers." With his every move tracked by millions, Kable's ultimate challenge is to regain his identity and bring down the system that has imprisoned him.
