Where I been, where I'm at

Ok, let's start with coming back from Iraq. I got back, took command of my Cavalry company, and did that until last October, when I went to Special Forces Selection. That mind-fuck made me realize that I do not in fact wish to be a Green Beret because, though it's not terribly hard and the bragging rights are there, the people that I met were not what I expected and the deployments would pretty much make getting married a pointless gesture, as I would never see my wife.
So I was going to get out of the Army after that, but I found out that I was still eligible for Psychological Operations, which is also under the blanket of Special Operations. So I got into that, did a few more months with my Cavalry unit, and then got orders to attend the MP (Military Police) Captain's Career Course here at Fort Leonard Wood, as PsyOps doesn't have it's own Captain's Career Course.
I took leave in April and MK and I spent an inordinate amount of time getting things ready for the wedding and moving to Missouri. It was a great wedding, and almost everyone who we really wanted to be there made it. The high point was, of course, my brother William's dancing. I've never seen anything like that in my life.
So now I've been happily married for 4 months, and we're doing pretty well all around. We live in a tiny town in central Missouri, next to a relatively small Army post, but we're only here for another month and a half. In late October, I'm heading back to Ft. Benning to do Airborne school and Pathfinder school, and I'll be spending the holidays back in Alabama with my family (both of ours). Beyond that, we're moving to North Carolina in February and I'll start the PsyOps Qualification Course, which lasts for a year and in which I'll be learning Russian. After the course I'll be stationed in North Carolina for a couple of years, and then I'll make Major and move on up to another job. So how are you all doing?
