There is nothing detectable about the metal by anything in the forensics lab. It's almost like the piece had been taken before the attack. How is that even possible? Their weapon was apparently able to destroy the entire building without even a single molecule showing any sign of having been effected by stray energy or electrons from the beam. Neither my own equipment nor any of the equipment in the forensics lab showed a single thing of interest.
This has gone on long enough, and enough have been kidnapped that the gloves are due to come off.
Are there any instructions for me?

I am not going to go willingly if I am approached by any of them, and I will do what is asked of me by my superiors. Don't tell me to just sit back and watch unless you are one of my superiors on the police force, or to run away to the Underground. My duties, and my loyalties come first, especially in this sort of situation.
