Okay kids.

I'm gonna follow in the footsteps of Miranda and post about working from home opportunities. This is obv a growing field and since I want to go back to school for my bachelor's (and gtfo my current job - insurance just doesn't do it for me) I'm gonna be hunting down the best opportunities available that suit my needs.

Sure Miranda does the EXACT same thing but her ultimate goal is writing related so a lot of the opps she finds are for writing articles. Since my goal is tech-related, there may be other things I'm willing/qualified to try.

If you have a good comp with more than 1g processing, a phone line separate from your main phone line (as in, a second landline or a phone line registered to DNC and is unpublished by your provider and you use cell phones for main household communications) plus a cheap headset, you could very well work for LiveOps.

The money is actually really good. For 75mins talk time, I'm invoicing them just over $19. That adds up to around $11-12 an hour. While the initial sign up requires $50 for a background check, they are kind enough to list some items that will cause you to fail the check automatically. Also, while you are in the certification process, they bombard you with a list that must be completed within 15 days after getting your password to sign in.

I finished the education courses in less than two days, but was not able to start taking calls within the time frame. I was sent a message on the 15th day saying I had a further 7 days to complete the process. I started taking calls and sent an email saying I work a b&m job (the accepted abbreviation for brick and mortar) and was messaged back saying as long as I'm actively signing up for commits and taking calls, I would be fine.

Commits are half an hour blocks that you schedule saying you promise to be by your comp and phone to take calls.

In working 3 hours, I took around 20 calls.

So, this really is a great opportunity for some people.

I can't being myself to keep taking calls because in truth, you're that schmuck on the other end of the phone when someone believes an infomercial's bullshit and actually calls the number. Taking straight up orders is fine. Constantly upselling was annoying and ultimately I felt like I was deceiving people. I have no faith in one product I took the most calls for. I hung up the phone actually feeling nauseated.

As such, I will be invoicing them for calls taken and removing myself from the agent pool.

At least in the 3 hours it took me to decide this job is not for me, I just about made back the $50 background check fee.

Get paid to basically advertise. Pay isn't amazing but if you have followers on Facebook and Twitter, and they click links you post, you get paid.

I haven't done a whole lot of this yet as I don't have many followers and I'm still figuring out the system but it seems easy and fun for some extra small change.
