[Batou has aged down about ten years!
This means that he is mostly and unchanged physically, except that his hair is brown and shorter. Mentally, however, he's quite a different character. As far as he knows, Earth is going through WWIV, and he's been stationed in South America as part of the Special Forces. He's an assassin, specifically, and his 'job' is to creep around in the jungle and kill snipers, enemy commanders, lay traps, commit sabotague and generally harry and harrass opposing forces.
So he's kinda surprised to find himself on a boat in the middle of the ocean, especially given that most cyborgs will go to great lengths to never be on or near the ocean.
