Inventions

One of the projects my engineering 21 group is considering is a timer which would function as an ordinary kitchen timer except that instead of sounding an alarm audible in the proximity of the device, as most timers do, it would call a phone number, presumably a cell number. This would allow people who start some sort of food cooking and not have to worry about going off an forgetting about it (as I often do). A big part of the appeal of this is simplicity. Cell-phones, watches, etc all have alarm functionality but you often have to go through menus, configuration, etc to set it. This would be a simple device that one merely turned to the correct time. At the moment I'm attempting to figure out how appealing this is, as we're only supposed to work on projects with potential commercial viability. Thoughts? Is it something you'd find useful?
