Tony had spent time digging out an outfit that didn't scream 'I have more money than sin' but also didn't make people think he was living in a flophouse. It was a delicate balance for him.

"Here we are," Tony agreed, trying not to stare at her chest. It was happening anyway. This was the worst week ever. "I don't think I've ever been here."

Sarah had already spent almost a day with Atton where he kept addressing her chest instead of her face. She was used to it already.

"Me neither." Yeah, her dating life hadn't been very much the fancy Italian restaurant type. Although she had taken part in a paintball war at Ching Tai, so there was that. "But it looks like they have a bar."

Well thank god for that.

"After you," Tony said, forcing himself to look at the bar.

The dress wasn't much better from the back. Just saying.

"What a fucking gentleman," Sarah snarked, albeit pretty pleasantly, as she moved past him to head for the bar.

Damn it, Sarah! He was trying to be noble here!

"It's a character flaw," Tony replied, placing a hand at the small over her back to follow along beside. Which didn't particularly help either.

No, it did not. Because it was about the most distracting small touch, and Sarah had a brief thought regarding the fact that his hand should've been lower.

"Yeah, it usually is. Don't run into it a lot 'round here."

That would not be first date appropriate. Even if it would be nice right now

Tony snorted at that, pulling his hand away once they were at the bar so they could sit. "Really? Most of the people seem nice enough."

Sarah took a seat, looking amused. "As if 'nice' and 'gentleman' are linked like that."

"Fair point," Tony replied, flagging down the bartender almost immediately. "Would you rather I say 'nice rack' and leer at you?"

She shrugged a shoulder. "I didn't say the gentleman thing was bad."

Really not something she knew how to work with, though.

"Duly noted. What'll you have?"

"Something disgustingly girly with a ridiculous umbrella?"

Well, she'd dressed up. Might as well shy away from beer, too.

"Two ridiculously girly drinks then," he said, giving the bartender a bright grin that would probably end with a phone number being written on a napkin.

Despite the obvious date. This week was special.

Sarah watched him as he ordered the drinks.

Then she snorted. "You are so getting hit on." And not by her.

Well, not just her.

"I get hit on a lot," he admitted like it was a secret. "But I'm here with you."

"Well fucking spotted, Tony," Sarah snarked - cheerfully! - because that was her way of obscuring the fact that she was pleased. "Gold star."
