it's cooler without you
last night, went on an adventure to see mars with jay and mona. trekked to the museum of science only to be surrounded by literally a thousand or so screaming children and geriatrics (who luckily were not screaming). decided waiting the 2+ hours for one moment of blissfully gazing upon the face of mars through a telescope was not worth braving the mob. wandered down to the esplinade to the hatch shell where there happened to be a free outdoor classical concert. sat and listened to a theme from stravinksy's firebird in the dark with mona. couldn't find mars in the sky.
later, didn't drink enough at blackout bar and got stuck with a larger than hoped for tab.
writing group tonight hosted by yours truly and it's adam's final evening in town. it hasn't hit me quite yet that he's moving tomorrow morning to new york, but there is an uncomfortable bottomless pit feeling starting in my tummy as a result. the best ones are always the first to go.
