Let's see... Was it 98? My parents got online and they had AOL. I think I found him either in a chat room, or just browsing profiles. I was all excited how you could meet new friends, and we made several in those first few months, but Noah is the only one still alive to tell about it. (ha! nah, I'm just kidding, but he is the only one still here)
He sent me a few pictures so we knew what he looked like and told us to come say hi if ever we saw him. We kept missing him or just not seeing him, until one time in like '99 at Coven 13. They had slide show projections of various pictures and artwork on both sides of the stage. I saw Noah's picture up there, and just as I did, Jer said, "look, it's Noah", and I said, "yeah, I see", and Jer responded with, "no, over there", and I think either he was right in front of us, or he came over to us later and we just saw him from afar, but anyway... that's the night we met in person. We would try to make it out to wherever he was every few weeks or so, but our flakiness and dramatic life at the time, kept us at a distance most of the time. We would babble on the phone forever and talk via aim, here and there, and we opened up quite a lot over the years, learning much about the three of us. Drama has come and gone, over and over, but never between us. There's a cool bond, and no matter how much time goes by, when we see him again, it's like we pick up where we left off, as if no time has passed.
There is no one quirky, spazzy, fun, honest, endearing and loyal enough, to ever be that fabulous combination that is Noah. He has understood us, acommodated us at his own inconvenience, listened to us and trusted us. He's one of the few people that we hope will still be our friend 50 years from now.
Enjoy your birthday, and know that we are so proud and happy to call you our friend!
