So much to tell!
But I haven't got much time. I'm cooking/marinating/watching my daughter.
We bought a car! The Volkswagen was nothing but a trail of dead ends and drama, including me losing my cool and hurting myself. I'm not even going to explain that.
So we finally all (my parents too), went to Ken Grody Ford in Buena Park to see what we could do about one of their cheap cars. Now the plan was that if the VW was a big fat NO, then we would just settle for a cheapy advertisement special. Well Jeremy got to the Ford dealer and spotted the car he'd been wanting to see in person. (I was picnicking across the street on a grassy knoll with my mother and daughter, avoiding further self-destructive-violence-due-to-salesman-stress. Thank lard for cell phones. We got a call from dad saying that Jer was test driving the new Focus ZX5. with the new Zetec engine. The car is fully loaded and sports a 6-disc cd changer!!!! The dealer was going to try and make a deal. Well after 2 hours of haggling, we got it! It's egg yolk yellow, even! Jer really wanted a yellow car, and it's just so damn cute!!! We love it so much and it handles better than the other cars Jer test drove. We are very pleased! We've got power everything, roadside assistance, ten year warranty, free scheduled maintenance, blah blah. We are so truly happy. We are paying on the high end of what we could afford, but we are both so satisfied with what we got.

Jer's really excited about getting after market goodies for it, since there are some places that specialize in Focus accessories. Apparently it's one of the best selling cars in Europe, and it was being sold over there, way before it came over here. That made him happy too!
Okay, so we drove around like nuts this weekend, but are now spending the day at my parent's house. We need to get streamlined and make a list of all the places we want to drive! It's so fun to not be limited by a poor vehicle!
