RIFF RAFF:
The DJ Profile

DEAN

Hailing from the Baltimore ghetto, Dean Sullivan grew up in small town Maryland (Bowie, to be exact.) Ever the articulate motherfucker, Dean immediately identified with metal and punk rock, finding the proper outlet for his blooming aggro-style homosexuality. Early on, he began attending punk, metal, and hardcore shows in Maryland, DC, and Virginia. His grasp on these genres is so flawless that it makes more than perfect sense for him to be a part of this party. Having been a part of, and released several records with, quite a few hardcore, noise, and experimental bands, he has more than established himself in these scenes. If you're looking for that certain hard-to-find realism in the punk genre, Dean is whom you need speak with. At just 22, he has earned his cred in this department and is more than modest about his idea of what he expects to see. A natural employee of respected DC venue The Black Cat, mister Sullivan still makes a name for himself in everything having to do with this scene. Come dance with him and see what new shit he has to offer.

JOSHUA

Raised in several Texas cities, this faggot motherfucker began as a goth. Once drugs came in to play, the next phase, naturally, was that of a hard-house raver kid, although he never lost the gothness. After that, the crystal meth lost its appeal and marijuana took center stage. This, of course, means that he became a big underground hip-hop head. After a brief stint in rehab and then jail, home slice relocated to Maryland, where he met Dean and re-acquainted himself with new wave and electro. Soon after, he spent two years as a DJ in Brooklyn and NYC, specializing in bad new wave, classic rock, and electro. His queerpunk parties with Tommy Hottpants gained a certain notoriety for being very unconventional and fresh. He succeeded in being unpredictable as a DJ, mainly pleasing crowds with bad tracks from the late 80s and early 90s, things he had enjoyed throughout childhood. Upon returning to DC, he recruited that amazing punk fag Dean and decided to throw one of his queerpunk parties that has, since, grown in popularity in DC.

JOSHUA & DEAN make sense as a DJ team because they balance each other out and provide a proper contrast between the several genres queerpunks seem to enjoy. Come see what critics from The Washington Post, Metro Weekly, and Gay Guide America are raving about. Nothing compares to this vibe, and nothing will properly prepare you for their unpredictable playlist. Trust these boys when they say that all riff raff is welcome, and anyone looking for something real, raw, and unexpected will not be disappointed. No attitude… no bullshit. RIFF RAFF.
