now plead for me

I FINALLY SAW CALE.

When Lou Reed died, I was like, this is it because Cale needs hate to keep him going and without his great love/enemy I thought he'd deteriotate quickly. Sadly, this was correct.

When I last saw him in 2013 he was still so virile but he's turning into a fragile old man now, poor darling. He doesn't look like he could smash your teeth out with a shotglass anymore and that's a real shame. He looks like a wizard now with his magnetic presence and dark glimmering eyes and wizened body.

He got absolutely FURIOUS with the sound guy and after that he looked a bit more alive. He's a machine driven by hatred and pretty soon that's going to run out. So I'm glad I saw him again even though he's not really the same person anymore.

Gig summary:

- He's really into trap right now (along with that creaking/clicking stuff everyone was into in sonology a few years back) so the first three songs were UNLISTENABLE. Glad to see some things never change

- On the other hand, some other songs were excellent, maybe the best I've ever seen them. Great great versions of Helen of Troy, Fear, and Gun

- Venus in Furs was both ruined and improved by his temper tantrum at the sound guy. Like, he's not going to understand your weird gestures if you're going to MURDER him with your eyes at the same time, bb. He's just going to cower AND HE DID

- Aside from that he wasn't that angry, which was sad, he didn't try to murder me with his eyes even once though I got a couple of venomous looks so at least that felt like home

- He pointed his wizardy finger at us individually in the front row to make us clap and he looked embarrassed about it it's like I don't even know him anymore. WHY THE NON-AGGRESSION? WHY IS HE EVEN MAKING US DO THINGS INSTEAD OF JUST GLARING AT US IN CONTEMPT?
That's what age does to a person I suppose.
