Drabble Batch 22 - Happy Anniversary!

Sep 25, 2011 00:00

Cait, happy 2nd anniversary. <3 We will always be my OTP, even if you leave me sometimes for other fandoms. It's okay. I know you'll always come back to me. XD Seriously, though, you've been so many things for me, my support, my muse, my shoulder to cry on, my endless source of amusement, and my best friend. I had meant to post something else, but it's turning into something beyond my control (which is fitting since it's meant to be ours), so you will have to have that later. Instead, you can have this. *chu*

For those of you who don't care about my sappy love for Cait, you should. Without her there would be much less Tegoshi in my fanfic and… much less fanfic from me in general. XD On an end note, all drabbles are PG or under.

淡雪(あわゆき) - light/fleeting snowfall - Koyama/Tegoshi
It's unexpected, the powdery-soft snowflakes coming without warning, and Koyama watches as Tegoshi looks curiously around them before putting out his tongue and catching one, winking at Koyama as he slips his tongue back into his mouth. It's such a Tegoshi thing to do, something cute and charming and childish that would look out of place for Koyama to attempt, but he does it anyway, making Tegoshi double over in laughter, the sound bright and loud in the hush. As though reading his mind, Tegoshi straightens up and takes off running a second before Koyama even starts moving, chasing him through the light snowfall.

Koyama will run out of steam long before Tegoshi does, and the younger indulges him by slowing to a stop and leaning back against the smooth bark of a tall, bare tree, waiting for Koyama to cage him there between his arms. It's expected, Tegoshi tilting his head up and waiting for Koyama's lips to meet his, a spot of warmth in the cold.

異郷(いきょう) - strange land - Shige/Tegoshi
Not for the first time Shige wishes that he had chosen someone else to travel with. The ease with which Tegoshi makes himself at home in every land, every time, every dimension, only makes Shige look and feel more awkward, always one step behind.

But it's Tegoshi who teases Shige mercilessly until he forgets the strangeness of their new locale, pranks him until he's laughing and crying at the same time, and it's impossible to feel out of place when Tegoshi makes him feel like the only place Shige should be is right there, wherever Tegoshi is. Not for the last time Shige admits there's no one else he'd rather have taken.

東雲(しののめ ) - daybreak - Massu/Tegoshi
Not exactly an early morning person, Tegoshi prefers late mornings and early evenings, when the temperatures have lowered enough to make being outside comfortable. Normally he hates waking up at the crack of dawn, whatever the reason may be, though he's never one to complain too much about it.

Now, though, as he sort of sits up in bed and props his head up on one hand, he thinks he might be changing. The way the brightening sun shines softly through sheer curtains, a full range of pastel colors playing across Massu's peaceful sleeping face, is one of the most beautiful things he's seen. Every night as he slips toward sleep, curled tightly against Massu's side, he can't wait for daybreak.

天眼通(てんがんつう) - clairvoyance - Ryo/Tegoshi
No one has entered his tent in tens of minutes, and Tegoshi idly shuffles his cards, laying them out in complicated patterns, playing at doing readings on everything and nothing all at once. He wonders if anyone would notice if he just closed up for the evening, went to see the aerial artists perform their death-defying stunts rather than sitting here waiting. It's late, late enough that most of the crowd has gone home, leaving him to amuse himself.

He has just decided that he's tired of entertaining himself, and would much rather someone do it for him, when the man walks in. His name is Ryo and he wears a sheepish look, light blush rising on his cheeks and Tegoshi doesn't stop the smile that comes. For the past three nights, Ryo has come in to have his fortune read, even though he has no questions to ask.

Rising without a word, Tegoshi goes to the tent flap, leaning out to remove his sign and lace up the opening, feeling Ryo's curious eyes on his back, hearing him shuffling awkwardly, as he does so.

Turning to face him, Tegoshi smiles mischievously. He doesn't need his skill to know that Ryo wants him. And he can think of far worse ways to pass the night.

流浪人(るろうにん) - wanderer - Tegoshi/Yamapi
There's something thrilling about never being tied down. It's not about a lack of responsibility; even one who is always moving has burdens to bear. It's just that until now, Yamashita has always preferred to be light on his feet, able to go where his whimsy takes him, and he has never once regretted that decision.

Until tonight. His body is telling him it's time to go, that he's spent too much time in this town and it is getting restless. His heart, however, can't seem to let go. Yuya, the pretty country boy who wouldn't be denied, is tucked under his chin, breaths shallow and fanning lightly against Yamashita's collarbone, and he wishes he hadn't let it get this far.

It might be time to settle down.

But in the grey light of pre-dawn, he wakes to an empty bed, unsure of where Yuya has gone, but glad because he doesn't think he could leave if Yuya were to look at him, level those knowing eyes at him and read him like the book he never knew he was. Well, love is fleeting, he knows that, and he certainly hadn't asked to fall in love with the petite brunet. Somewhere, maybe even the next town over, he'll find someone to help him forget, or so he tells himself. He quietly packs his small bag, heaving it over his shoulder and walking out into the cozy lobby of the small town's inn, only to be stopped in his tracks by a familiar face - Yuya smiling impishly at him from where he's lounging against the wall.

"I thought you'd never get up," Yuya says airily, pushing away from the wall and picking up his own brand-new bag before walking out the front door, not even waiting to see if Yamashita would follow.

He never has been one to settle, Yamashita thinks with a grin.
