October is breast cancer awareness month!
and as such, i'll let you all know what i'm doing to further this cause.
the Avon Breast Cancer 3 Day is an event where men and women who have raised at least $1,900 each walk for three days, and nearly 60 miles, from Baltimore, MD to Washington DC to raise money and awareness for the cause of early prevention and towards a cure. Last year the 3000+ walkers in DC alone raised 6.4 MILLION dollars, and supported wonderful local causes.
I tell you all this not to brag, but to do my part to increase awareness of this that affects both woman AND men, old and young.
What can you do? You can walk with me. applelard walked last year (not with me, but in the DC walk), and you can read in her old journal entries her experiences with it as well. If you can't walk with me, you can pledge me. If you email me at lilyb@mediaone.net with your address, I'll gladly send you a donation form. Every dollar helps, and counts.
