baby shower, family visits, lots of fun
baby shower was this weekend. it was awesome, but i'll get to that.
last week both flew and drug by. i couldn't wait for people to get here so i could see them, but once it arrived it was zoomzoomzoom. sister's brood came up thursday afternoon, so i got to steal my nephew before the rest of the family came. he only gets cuter. :)
friday night my parents surprised us by calling while we were out to dinner telling us they were 'about to get on their flight' - buh what they're driving huh? yea, that plan changed, but they forgot to tell us ;P good thing they did, and didn't just show up friday night at 11:30 when we were all asleep :) it was great to have them there early.
mil came early on saturday, which was wonderful too, and then we all got to work with the cleaning and the prep for sunday. i say 'we' very loosely, as they really didn't let me do anything. i cleaned as much as i could get away with though, and it made me feel not quite as useless ;) sue and jeffie and callie came over, as well as the raymonds and the molina's - it was great to see out of town people, which i don't get to do that often (and i need to change!)
sunday came and went too quickly - it was a blur of activity, hard work by so many wonderful friends and family, and smiling faces and lots of hugs. i wish it could have lasted 10x as long. there is so much to say about it, but i almost don't want to mention specifics because i'd feel bad if i left out one of the great details! the pictures really say it all - tamara (who spearheaded the shower effortlessly and did a bang up job) already has some up, but i am a slack ass and have not posted any yet. but then again, i still don't have my d*c pictures up. yea. slack ass.
we got lots of stuff, and the nursery is actually almost set up completely. we've got the dresser on order, and then that's the last bit of it other than the rug and the closet organizing stuff. this is all wooshing by way too fast. waaaaay too fast. gah. :P
we have a lot to be thankful for, and i am every day to those that i am lucky enough to call friends.
