vegas in shortform
at least i'm going to try to keep it short. i had visions of recounting an hour by hour outline of the journey, but my memory (much like my liver damage) has faded :)

we (ironman, gwyndyn, diana's mom, sahiko, lfett, megachrisgt and wombat2001) woke up at a resonable hour in phoenix, and drove the 5 hours to vegas. we got in around 3pm, where just about everyone had beat us there - michaelmauzey and mizunakat, as well as sc0ttyb, diana's sister and her friend. and promptly hit the buffet. mmmm. vegas buffet. we registered for those loyalty cards, played a little slots, and rested up before diana's Big Night Out - she needed a bachelorette party after all. the only issue was that we were all le tired. we got past it though, ending up at treasure island so we could watch the 11:30 sirens of ti show. it was called due to 'high' winds (phsaw) so we decided to go forth towards our original destination, tangerine. however, on our way into the building we were given buy one get one drink coupons as a consolation for the cancelled show. figuring why not, we stopped at kahunaville to get our beverages. after each having an otter pop, we had found our destination for the evening (unwittingly) due to the great drink and the fun dj. mizunakat even treated me to a session at an oxygen bar - that was way fun, and way neat. after that was more drinking, and a lot more fun - it truly was a great night, and the bride seemed to have a great time - the main goal! on our way back we even ended up on the same train as the boys, so we went to eat at around 3:30am - gotta love vegas. :)
bluekitsune arrived early, making our party finally complete! today the vegas wedding day as well, so most of the day was spent prepping for that. we did some stuff in the morning although i can't really tell you what (besides eat, i'm fairly sure we ate :P) and then we got ready for the vegas wedding! it was such a great experience, they had it at the garden of love wedding chapel - complete with drive through! it was pretty awesome, and any couple that renews their vows 2 days after doing it the first time is truly meant for each other in my book :) afterwards, we went to eat (again), which i guess would count as their reception. we went to flavors at harrahs (or the way we prefer to say it, haraaahs). this buffet was so good that i ate myself sick. i mean a chocolate fountain - what was i supposed to do? afterwards we went wandering, and we ended up in paris, where we ordered the hugest drinks ever in effel tower plastic cups, and the boys and ssb got what we call boob drinks - they were in balloons fashioned after some famous blue on that scoot will provide the name of i am nearly certain. after that some people went back to the hotel, and some of us wandered the strip - i really wanted to see a fountain show at the bellagio, and we got there just in time to see one. it really was rather neat. i'd love to stay there sometime - it really is as beautiful as it appears. we got back and peoples were sleeping which made me sad - but tomorrow was another day!
so we originally were scheduled to fly out tuesday afternoon, a day earlier than everyone else. right when we got to phoenix we realized what a sucky idea this was, so we set about changing our flight to wednesday. considering that i had set my mental security on the assuredness of my schedule, to say that this did not put me in a little funk would be a lie. but i think - all things considered - i managed to make wednesday mentally a very good day. it didn't hurt that i got to spend it with the bestest of people.
we started early that day, determined to get as much vegas in as possible. we went to the hilton first thing, to get on star trek: the experience. we got there right before it opened, so we didn't have to wait too long (although we did have to wait longer due to the operators inability to count )- both rides were pretty cool, even though i'm not such a big star trek fan. afterwards we went to quarks, and had mini warp cores since we had coupons for free ones with an entree. well, you would think by the term 'mini' that this wouldn't be much of a drink at all. you would be wrong. i think i overheard someone saying they had 5 shots in them each (the mini ones). yea, it was like 1pm and we were all shitfaced. mmmm. vegas & 'murka, right there.
we headed back after that, and enjoyed some lovely pool time. we should have done more of that, it was right nice out there. after that we dressed back up and tried to hit as many hotels as possible before we went back to ours, where we subjected those that hadn't seen it to borat on ppv.
that's vegas in a nutshell. it was an awesome time, but it was even more awesome to get to spend time with people. miss you guys already.
