"Cheered by hundreds of people, the body of Coretta Scott King was carried through the streets by horse-drawn carriage today to Georgia's state Capitol, where she became the first woman and first black person to lie in honor. The ceremony was in contrast to the treatment given to Martin Luther King Jr. in 1968 -- when then-Gov. Lester Maddox ignored King's death and refused to authorize a public tribute."

She was a great woman, who lead an extraordinary life. I hope she's happy and at peace, and in good company.
