Rec Post #8: Sam pulls Dean out of Hell

This time I come bearing recs for fics in which Sam gets Dean out of Hell. Links to podfics versions, when available, are included. If there are any fics you think deserve a rec, please do share. Oh, all of these are Sam/Dean. I don’t think I have even read one in this theme that’s gen, at least not that I remember.

Dean is so lost yet so Dean and Sam is so desperate to save Dean in the wrongly right sort of way, that it’s almost too painful to read

Thanks for the recs! I haven't read any of these. There was a dearth of Sam-saving-Dean-from-Hell fics back when I needed them, but then I used to steer clear of wincest. So that's where they all were hiding! ;)

Here is one gen one that I read at the time. I'm not familiar with Jonathan Strange but still enjoyed it. It's really well written, a great story, plus lots of awesome, heartbreaking Sam'n'Dean.

I know what you mean. I too used to be strictly a gen-only reader and it used to be frustrating sometimes because it seemed like so many of the good ones were slash.
