Well, I'm back.

Actually I was back yesterday, but whatever. Vegas is one weird place. I'm still jetlagged, and expect to be so for ages yet. And I have much to do. How are you all?

Where did you stay?

Were you there for business, or vacation?

Enquiring minds want to know! (or is it inquiring?)

We stayed at the Luxor, in the pyramid, facing the Excalibur. Silliness abounded! (Although I did wish that they could have installed a toilet with a slightly more powerful flush, also a shelf for our shampoo. However.)

There for vacation with crankygrrl, Jen, and Shannon -- don't ask me how this escapade all got started, because I don't remember. It was wonderfully silly and fun, even for a basically non-gambler like me (I gawked and shopped and ate and drank a lot, and played penny slots). On Sunday we rented a car and drove out of town to Red Rock Canyon, which was lovely (and made a nice change from neon and air-conditioning and artificial light).

I don't think I have a position on enquiring vs. inquiring (although i is the new e, as anyone who has visited the Apple Store is in a position to know). Just make sure you spell it the same way next time. ;)

Nice! I am staying in the Luxor as well, when I visit in a couple of weeks. I'm very excited about eating in the Mexican restaurant there, because I had this awesome grilled shrimp salad there back in 2002 (the first time I visited Vegas), and the fact that I still remember it is indicative of how very good it was. Plus, foot-high margaritas. Can't go wrong there. We're staying in the new tower they've apparently recently added or renovated. I don't remember much about the Luxor... I went to Vegas last year, but we stayed at Monte Carlo, and never made it out in that direction.

I'm also very excited about hitting Victoria's Secret, which I now do EVERY time I go to the states. They just make the best bras. La Senze looks like utter crap in comparison.

Excellent! With me it's Ann Taylor (since I find Jockey For Her meets my underwear needs quite nicely, thank you). I got a gajillion new clothes (approx.) and am very happy.

In fact, I have savings cards to Ann Taylor if you think you or anyone would be able to use 'em. Some conditions apply. Let me know!

I know the restaurant you mean! We chickened out on the foot-high margaritas but the regular ones were very tasty, as were the nachos. (We ate there after the scary incoming trip.)

I hear the tower rooms have baths, so that would be good. Other than that, the Luxor is very... ersatz Egyptian. (I kept saying "I've been to Luxor in Egypt. It didn't really look like this" until Cranky told me to stop.)

What takes you there?

Dude, I was getting worried! Both you and Cranky without words for a few days is SPOOKY.

Curious! What were you doing in Vegas? Hm? Hm? Gambling away some hard-earned cash? *envy* Working? *not envy* Anyway, good to read ya hon :)

Oopsie -- sorry! I did sort of drop off the face of the earth. I didn't gamble away a whole lot of hard-earned cash (I bought clothes with it instead). Drank, ate, drank, gawked, swam a little, drove out to Red Rock Canyon... crazy place! But I don't think I necessarily need to visit it again. ;)

Heh, cool. I had the same impression of LA. Funky to visit, but that's about it. Glad you had fun :)
