Did not look at light fixtures because no available vehicles. Ah well. Instead, we watched Veronica Mars and ate spaghetti and then went for a walk to get ice cream and admire the burnt-out building (I had the apple-pie ice cream in a sugar cone). Tilde very excited about the walk -- she hasn't been getting a lot of exercise lately.

Thursday's report:

Today, I fed the hooligans ham and cheese quiche and Caesar salad. There really wasn't enough. And someone from my family had scarfed the chocolate cake I was saving for David.

The hooligans are working on/ will work on:
- arch on the first floor
- mortaring the holes in the brick where previous owner had put vents, etc.
- placing the holes in the second floor for toilet and sink
- shims on the chimney so that the walls look straight
- second sort-of 'pass-through' on the 2nd floor has had its opening made
- removing the extraneous cold water pipe, which--David thinks--has a cut-off
- rafter ties on the 3rd floor
- drywall against the spindle on the 1st floor stairs.

R, as discussed stained glass beside pass-through OK. No ritual supuko. To check: 16 1/2" wide by 19" tall.

J, who is taking a day off, will provide cheques tomorrow--maybe she's afraid John will run off with the house fortune.

David still has nasty scar from wasp sting from wasps' nest at House, which has since been destroyed.

We will be away through tomorrow 10:30 until Monday morning. Stuff to do is on white board.

Cheers, H
Dropped by city hall this morning on my way to work. Permit is still in the hands of the zoning inspector. *eek*

Today I hope to be productive.

My semi-crazy colleague apparently decided not to renew her contract. My boss knew and I guess the office manager knew, but the rest of us were left to speculate about the empty name-plate on her door. Would've been nice if she'd said goodbye. Shame -- when she wasn't being crazy, we got on well.

house, work
