Going gray.

Feb 23, 2008 21:47

Tonight I am dying my hair black. I have abstained from hair dye for about 3 years now, this has been the first time since I was 16 that my natural color has seen daylight. However, I've been straightening my hair more often, which leads to much flipping of layers and discovering many GRAY HAIRS! I'm only 24, and I have about 11 gray hairs! Fucking unacceptable. I could live with it if I had many more, if I was gracefully salt and peppered or if it just kind of looked like highlights. This is not the case, obviously. I can't even put my hair up for fear of looking a little like the Bride of Frankenstein minus the cool scar, dress, and hair do. Ridiculous? Just a little. My Dad started going gray at 18, so I guess I'm following in his hair path. God help me.

Friday at 11:30 am I have an appointment to get contacts. I have been meaning to get them for a very, very, very long time but never had the means or insurance to. Now that I do, I'm hopping on it. I'm very excited at the prospect of going glasses-less and getting to wear sunglasses. That being said, promptly after my appointment/fitting I am packing up my boyfriend and heading to Macy's to invest in a pair of Betsey Johnson Sunglasses. They have hearts on the sides, HELLOOOO! If not I at least want something with a chi-chi name brand. I mean, I'll never own a Prada or Chanel bag...why not have chic glasses? At under $100 they're affordable and totally less tacky than the BJ bags or the fake Chanel bags bitches seem to be carrying all over (DON'T THINK I DON'T KNOW YOUR "CHANNEL" BAG IS FUCKING FAKE! THE CC'S ARE TOO THIN, THE PLACEMENT IS SO WRONG, AND THE QUILTING IS HILARIOUS. DON'T FUCK WITH A BITCH THAT BUYS VOGUE IN 3 DIFFERENT LANGUAGES!)

Also, I had a facial and manicure at Amenities in Fig Garden on Wednesday (THANKS, MOM!). It was fabulous. I will be returning regularly if not just for the ego fluff of my esthy Julie telling me my skin is beautiful but for the scalp, shoulder and hand massages! In fact, I'm going back in a couple weeks for a full body massage (thanks to a coupon!) and mani. I also left the salon with a few products that I am now pledging my love to. Aveda is really fucking awesome.

LADIES! If you ever have the money/means to get a facial: DO IT! It is worth every penny, every pain of an extraction, every little breath of the steam machine! They also make great xmess, bday, whatever day gifts. Do it.
