The evening took a rather themed turn. Everyone got to the bar, but me and a few other people had forgotten to eat dinner. So after a rousing few rounds of foosball, we gave our drink tickets away and headed for the subway to go to... MYUNGDONG. THE SAME ONE THAT WAS IN "YOU'RE BEAUTIFUL". THAT MYUNGDONG.
I have so many pictures of idols from billboards now. Everywhere you look, there's G-Dragon being sassy and JYJ being all lovely and Yunho filling out some jeans nicely and Nichkhun smoldering and Jang Geun Suk having hair that needs cut but AGH WHY IS HE SO BEAUTIFUL. There was a Jang Geun Suk cut-out in a store, but the store was closed, so we vowed to come back another day (which we were already wanting to do for de SHOPPINGGGG) to take pictures of it. Because we are the coolest people in the world. I really impressed the girls I was with by knowing the name of every idol ever. It's good to discover that my hours spent poring over Korean pop gossip is not wasted time.
And apparently there is a concert on July 8th with TVXQ, GD&TOP, and 2PM, some kind of G-market promotional thing. And everyone I was with was all WANT WANT WANT.
Though in addition to wandering around ogling posters and generally bemoaning how many cute clothes/purses/shoes/accessories there are (and how we'd be broke in a week), we had a lovely hotpot dinner of ddokbeokki and japjae. We asked for spicy, and boy did that man deliver. But it was a good spicy, intense but rejuvenating. And SOOOOO GOOOOOOD. The guy who was making our food was kind of really adorable in that older-man-you-just-kind-of-want-to-hug way. He had on a bowtie, and would get all blushy when we took pictures of him making our stuff.
Also we went on a BB Creme spree. I ended up getting some because I found some that was in my shade, which was unexpected.
Tomorrow, we have a morning field trip to a Korean folk village, so that should be cool. And I just found out my roommate likes anime/manga AND kpop. WIN. We just talked about Bleach for half an hour.
Quick word of advice: before coming to Korea, learn to read hangul characters. Seriously. Sometimes things are in English, but generally they are not.
reality good shit
