An uneventful day, as well as the new series Les Misérables: Shoujo Cossette

Today was rather interesting, though rather on the slow side, thanks to another winter storm (which turned out not as bad as people thought in the end.) A lot of customers who did come in were in ambilvalence, both in awe and happiness about Jennifer Hudson winning an Oscar, and pissed off about Jeff Garcia leaving the Eagles. I, for the most part, just listened to my MP3 player while working.  Otherwise, the day seemed rather uneventful, really.

Right now, I'm watching the BS Fuji TVanime drama serial レ・ミゼラブル 少女コゼット (RE MIZERAABU  SHOUJO KOZETTO/Les Misérables ~Little Girl Cossette~), which marks as the 24th series (and plus, a reinstatement) of the Sekai Meisaku Gekijou (世界名作劇場/World Masterpiece Theatre) line of anime drama serials, and of course, is based on the novel by Victor Hugo.  It's kind of interesting that it skips, like, ten years later to focus on Cossette, instead of Jean Valjean (although he still plays a major role in this series, though in this adaptation he is under the identity of "Mayeur Madeleine", from what I've seen thus far.)  Oh, well--I like the opening theme Kaze no Mukou (Beyond the Wind) and the ending theme ma maman ~Watashi no Okasan~ (ma maman ~My Mother~), both sung beautifully by Yuki Saito (who'd have thought this--a former idol singer becoming a new kind of idol, this time for the World Masterpiece Theatre anime line, amongst other children's programmes? Proof that she still gets respect and awe everywhere =^____^=)  At any rate, it looks good thus far.  Hopefully it continues to go back to the tradition of the classic WMT series, like Heidi and Anne of Green Gables, and definitely Little Princess Sara.

Oh, well, for those interested, I'll show episode two of this series, as it shows both Cossette's strength and downfall.  It also shows how cruel the Thénadier family really are to this girl.  (It's subtitled, though, which is good.)

Pt. 3:

Oh, I personally, agree--Cossette should've pimp slapped the fuck out of those brats long ago....

Oh, at any rate, time to eat dinner.
