I would say that it's quite good. I've learned quite a bit about John that I didn't know before. I do like that the book doesn't try and omit the bad stuff (the temper, the drugs, the drinking, the jealousy, the cheating on his wife, the being a shitty father to Julian), but it doesn't put him up on a pedestal of Saint John.
At least not to the point where I'm at. He's really only just got involved with Yoko and the band has just started the beginning of the end with Brian's death. I'm a bit hesitant to read that part honestly.
I think my favorite part so far is when they're talking about the whole Jesus comment. I had seen the press conference where John apologized and you can hear it in his voice, but it talks about him being in their press officer's office and crying because he thought he ruined everything for all of them.
The book really does make me appreciate that despite his flaws and the fact that he could be quite insufferable... he really was a really great human being.

Which is odd since about six months ago I thought they were all a bit jerks... what with their seemingly endless bitterness at each other through the 70s and whatnot.
