let me take you down
A couple of weeks ago memeswhores posted a meme where you post something every day for 30 days (at least that's how I assume it works). I thought I'd give it a try.
day one - your favorite song
In reality I have no favorite song. I find the idea of pinning down one song out of the thousands I've heard that I enjoy extremely silly. Because really hundreds come to mind. It solely depends on what kind of mood I'm in or what sort of musical phase I'm stuck in when I'm asked.
I tend to have a favorite song of the moment. Something I really enjoy listening to a given time. A couple of weeks ago I was hooked on the song Howl by Florence + the Machine. A month before that it was What Is Life by George Harrison. Last year I'm pretty certain it was Hysteria by Muse. My favorite song is always, always changing.
I will name a song though. It's no secret that I've been on a giant Beatles kick since September... in fact I'm pretty sure everyone I know knows about it. Therefore I will pick Strawberry Fields Forever by The Beatles as my favorite song (of the moment.) Easily one of the best Beatle songs in my opinion. So many things stick out to me about this song. I'm always a little sad when I hear it though knowing that John hated his voice so much. He really was a wonderful singer.
