"I REFUSED TO LET DETROIT GO BANKRUPT!" - BARACK OBAMA
Detroit was once a thriving, bustling, prosperous city.

They did this to themselves - under the stewardship of the Democrat Party over the last 5 decades.
Now, people in Detroit were gleefully standing in lines to get their "Obama-cash" and "Obama-phones" from Obama's "stash just a few short years ago. Remember how happy they were? Obama! Obama! O-ba-ma!

Now Obama, with the help of his sycophants in the media, advance the narrative that the Republican candidate for the presidency in 2012, Mitt Romney, had said to 'just let Detroit go bankrupt!?

Remember? It was a LIE!

Like so many myths propagated by the left (a la Saul Alinsky) it was repeated over and over to the point people STILL repeat it ad nauseum no matter howw many times it is debunked.

FACT: Mitt Romney looked at the GM and Chrysler meltdown and suggested a "structured reorganization of the companies" through legal bankrupty strategies and described how this could be done with private investment and some governmental assistance.

PERIOD!

How many hours I wasted with liberals who refused to admit the truth or even read the very sources they provided to support their argument but actuall proved the opposite.
It's 1 of 3 things:

a) They're total ideologues and dont care about facts.
2) They're simply clueless.
3) Cognitive dissonance - their brains cannot process evidence and facts that contradict what they believe.

Imagine - the largest municipality in history has now gone into bankruptcy despite the president declaring that he refused to let that happen. Like a true liberal, he doesn't really care. His life is far far away from the reality of cities like Detroit comfortablly, nestled in a privileged nest of luxury and gracious living while he wails against "the rich" and pretends he stands for the "little people".

Don't these snobby detached self-righteous know-it-all "progressive" types (who have never accomplished anything themselves in the real world) who point their fingers at US make you want to puke?

Mitt Romney was not my first choice for president during the campaign. I have many issues with him. however -Romney is not a left-wing radical with a smug all-knowing totalitarian bent and prospects for cities like Detroit, prospects for the manufacturing/industrial sectors of this country, prospects for the economy, the health industry, the country in general would be infinitely better had he been elected.

Oh, well - like your mama said. "Be careful what you wish for."

You can fleece the producers just so long before the makers flee the takers.

Detroit got what it wanted. Who's next?

barack_obama, bailouts, detroit
