CHARACTER NAME: Allison Dillon AKA Aftershock
FANDOM: Marvel MC2
CHRONOLOGY: Issue 81 of Spider-Girl, her last Appearance!
CLASS: Ex-Villain
SUPERHERO NAME: Aftershock
ALTER EGO: Allison Dillon, who will be Daddy's little girl. Maybe.
BACKGROUND:
Allison's young history was never fully extrapolated on. What is known about her history is that her parents never married, despite the fact that they were in love. Her mother, only referred to as Marilyn, never wanted to marry Allison's father, who was not only a criminal, but the Supervillain Electro, due to his past as a convict. When Allison was born, it was quickly discovered that not only would her parents not get married, but Marilyn forced Max from Allison's life when it was rather violently discovered that if the two of them touched, they would experience severe pain.
Beyond this, Marilyn was raised in a single-parent home, and back when Electro was still in prison for being Electro, Marilyn died, and Max was never informed of her death. Allison was then shuffled from home to home as an orphan, and most likely never finished her education due to both her criminal exploits as well as the fact that she is still a minor.
When she first appears in the series, she is merely the average street-level masked villain, robbing banks. After her first encounter, it's generally assumed that her and Spider-Girl had a few more altercations, but nothing major or worth calling attention to. Her final main encounter with Spider-Girl is the most important of her life.
After receiving a call from the Avengers that someone wanted to speak with her father, Spider-Girl met with Electro, who requested help with his daughter. Max had only recently found out about Marilyn's death, and the fact that his daughter had been shuffled from home to home. Once Spider-Man agreed to help, he and May discovered that Allison and Max experienced such pain when in contact with each other because their polarities were different. While Max was just seeking help with stopping his daughter, Spider-Man and Spider-Girl decided to one-up him, and they devised a plan to get Max close to his daughter.
Their meeting was rough. Allison resented her father for not being around, but she also did want her father. Max and Allison fought through the pain of being around one another enough to share a hug, although they have not solved their problem yet.
However, because of Max's persistence, they are given a chance to learn to know each other as father and daughter.
PERSONALITY:
Allison is a rough and tumble type of girl. She's a little crude, and doesn't take much from anyone. In some ways, she has little shame, because even though she's a minor, she's running around in a very feminine moniker of her father's outfit, although exposing her midriff for the world to see.
Beyond that, Allison has particular hang-ups about being touched. In fact, she makes a point to violently shock anyone who dares to do so, most likely because of her issues with touching her own father.
While she's crude and rude, Allison at her heart is a girl who just severely misses and wants to know her father. She modeled her costume after him, modeled her lifestyle after him, and even begs him to know why he doesn't love her. She has daddy issues that need to be resolved, and her slight obsession with emulating Max's past strongly points in that direction.
She's also extremely violent in ways. Not only when someone breaches her personal space, but also any time she's threatened in any way. She's ruthless to defend herself, and extends this to her now-defunct villainy career. She takes satisfaction in her successes, but when she fails, she becomes more and more angry, something like a live wire being let loose. She's snippy and quips with the best of the Spider-Girl villains, just like the villains of May's father's time. She's also defensive about her abilities, and what she can do. She makes excuses for her failings, either by becoming angrier, or by justifying what she's done wrong in both her mind and to others.
POWER:
Allison is almost identical to her father in the sense of her powers. In further detail, this means that she generates a bioelectric field from within her body, and is essentially a battery with a live wire connected and directed at you. While the core of her abilities are the same, her father is both more powerful and more experienced at using the manipulation of the lightning. When last seen in Spider-Girl, she was able to create large bursts of energy, shock anyone who touched her, direct her field, and other such things with the lightning. With practice and instruction, it is possible that she will gain more control over her powers, as she has mostly used them for straight on attacking and not much else.
[CHARACTER SAMPLES]
COMMUNITY POST (FIRST PERSON) SAMPLE:
[ There's a good few minutes of crackling before Allison is finally calm enough to figure out that her electricity is interfering with the communicator. Then finally it abruptly cuts off. ]
So, is this like some kind of cell phone? One of those expensive ones that get on the internet for you? I don't know who's out there, but let's get something straight.
Some stupid machine told me I'm supposed to be a hero? What, are they all out of the real ones that they're bringing in people like me? I am totally not up for this job, so whoever's in charge can just forget it! I'm only out for one person, and that's me! I'm not in the business of taking care of anybody and I'm not about to start now.
Besides, isn't this whole traveling worlds thing kind of the Avenger's deal?
LOGS POST (THIRD PERSON) SAMPLE:
Pain. Fire ran from every nerve, every synapse fired in protest, and Allison cried and shrieked in response. She couldn't handle it, every part of her wanted to tell her father to back off and get away. Every part of her that didn't want to know her father, anyway.
That was the whole damn problem. He left her and now here he was trying to make nice, and what did she get out of it? A whole lot of pain, sure. Then again, if he kept his promises, could he actually be her dad? A real dad, and not moved from home to home like some unwanted brat with mousey brown hair and a bad temper? Nobody wanted her, that was for sure. Who wanted a superhuman child? Despite the fantasy stories about raising the next big superhero, the fact of it was that everyone fantasized about it, but nobody really wanted her.
Not even her dad. Or so she'd thought. Here he was now, and Allison almost felt a sense of relief and perhaps even elation that maybe it hadn't been that he didn't want her. How many times had she dreamed that daddy would come through the door and take her away? Take her away from the homes and the misery and actually be her dad?
Arms tightened around her, and she almost felt safe.
Then it was gone.
All of it. The searing pain, her dad, the spider-twit and her dad, the freaking Avengers! They were all gone, and she was alone, again! Allison looked around, wild eyes going one way and then another, taking in the scope of the room before she managed to take a few hesitant steps.
Where the hell was she?
FINAL NOTES ABOUT YOUR CHARACTER:
Allison isn't really a villain in the conventional sense. Although she has the potential to be so! It will greatly depend on the influences of others in the city as to which way she'll go. I'm not sure if she would be considered a villain from the get-go or not given her history, so I'll leave that up to you guys!
