The owl is still alive
Now those were some weeks... Of course, right after my good resolution to post here more, I aquired a cold. As usual, I don't get any fever, only stuffed nose, sore throat, nasty cough. Whee. Felt well enough to work, but totally crashed after that, so no social contacts via internet, barely social contacts in RL. In hindsight, I should have said "fuck it" and let the doc write me off for some time, but yeah. *sigh* And OF COURSE I paid for that, the freaking cold pulled a Die Hard and came back with a vengeance. Which shows me how physically exhausted I still am, I usually get over these cold much easier...
But, lucky me, the cold decided to retreat far enough so that my vacation wasn't in danger. :-) The thing is, I made a trip to London for a few days! I found out that I could get time off for the week where Raintown would be playing in London, which would mean being able to meet up with badfalcon, ravens_word and charlies_dragon. So I told the llama, the llama suggested NOT to tell the others, thus operation secret!owl was born :-) In short, it was a great success!! And I also got to meet whiskyinmind, which was awesome. :-)
I went via Eurostar, stayed from Monday til Saturday. Pictures and detailed report to come, so just a tl,dr: visited the Royal Albert Hall, Cliff Richard doesn't know how to use a hoover, visited the Royal Mews, cried my eyes out while watching "War Horse", went to British Library, did NOT step on the Glass Walk on Tower Bridge, saw "Billy Elliott" and met Ruthie Henshall, raided an American Candy store, had tons of fun at the Raintown gig, did some shopping and saw London by night :-)
Now, if the lingering cough would kindly fuck off please, that would be awesome... although it feels more like an allergy cough than anything else. *narrows eyes at suspicious trees*
My Dad is doing ok, he has his ups and downs like I do, but he stays active, has already done some photography jobs and learns how to use my old laptop, which is awesome. So we're muddling through...
Ok, back to work, lunchbreak is almost over and I just remembered I have chocolate pudding left!
