Happy World Book Day, everyone! Read any good books recently? I have re-read Emily Bronte's Wuthering Heights, because I saw it as a play onstage (very well done, captured the original mood!), I re-read Isabel Allende's House of the Spirits (still like a gut punch) and I read Ben Aaronovitch's Rivers of London Part One. That one was amusing and a good read, and got me interested enough to buy the second part. Hopefully it will turn out a good series! Did anyone read it?
And Happy Birthday William Shakespeare, thank you for making the world a richer place. *bows* Most of my favorite quotes are from the tragedies, but I really love this end monologue from Midsummer Night's Dream. One day I'll learn it by heart.
PUCK
If we shadows have offended,
Think but this, and all is mended,
That you have but slumber'd here
While these visions did appear.
And this weak and idle theme,
No more yielding but a dream,
Gentles, do not reprehend:
if you pardon, we will mend:
And, as I am an honest Puck,
If we have unearned luck
Now to 'scape the serpent's tongue,
We will make amends ere long;
Else the Puck a liar call;
So, good night unto you all.
Give me your hands, if we be friends,
And Robin shall restore amends.
