So, ele is alive:-) Let me tell you, one week off is not as long as one might think... I planned to a) bake cookies b) edit my Con2 pics c) post the Con2 pics and maybe even d) start writing the Con2 report.
Ahem. I managed... um, point a? Okay, and a bit of point b. But hey, I have a lot of cookies now... and let me list them:
Chocolate Ginger Squares. No baking required, and very nommy.
Plum Swirls. One of those is almost a meal... and even better with improvised plum glaze.
Cookie Dough Brownies. Oh my God, mouthgasm.
Cinnamon Squares. Very tasty, but next time I don't spread the dough that thin. They were not supposed to crumble off the baking tin!
Oat Flake Cookies. The baked sort. Looks very plain, but before you know it, you ate four, five...
Chestnut Bits. Om nom nom.
Now what is the name for "Spritzgebäck"? Plain and simple almond cookies. All of a sudden I had six baking tins of them. Yum!
Gingerbread with figs and chocolate frosting. Tasty!
And muffins with rum fruits for my dad. The baked dough was not soft enough for my taste, next time I use the basic dough recipe from my American Muffins cook book. Still, nice recipe!
If anyone wants recipes, I can type them up. It will just take a while...
Did you know that you can get muscle ache from baking? I do now. Ouch. And despite having showered twice, I still think I smell like a bakery. :-)
Also, I went to the gym, got a massage, had two choir rehearsals, a dentist appointment for tooth cleaning, an appointment with a new insurance agent and a christmas carol singing round for old people. Oh, and I missed the second to last step on our staircase (which I only know for, oh, fourty years? *snort*) and dropped to the floor like a wet towel. Luckily, no cookies were harmed, and I only have a small bruise on my right arm. It was very surreal...
And finally, to give you an idea about my state of mind after this week: tonight, I dreamed that there was a Karaoke contest in our laundry room. I was paired up with a random dude in drag and had to sing ABBA's "Money Money Money" while Brian Nutter performed a shaking booty dance. In silver glitter trousers.
...
Yeah, I don't know either. :-)
And now I'm back to work, lunch break is over and I have to tackle data bases. See ya folks!
random things,
