...and kicking:-)
The last few hours of my week off are running through. But it was a faboulous week! I was rarely online - peeking into Twitter, tending crops on FarmVille and PioneerTrail, and bookmarking flist entries for later... Every time I thought "Oh, tonight I'm gonna catch up with my flist" there was either a thunderstorm so I had to shut off MyEliot (No, I'm not gonna browse through three days of flist on my smartphone. No way.), or it was so freaking hot that I was melting in my room. Sooooo... now I have a big folder named "LJ entries to comment on" and one more with "fics to read", and I'm determined to dig through the first one in the next days. The fic folder will take a little longer, I'm afraid!
So, what did I do this week? In general, I watched a lot of Buffy, and found my love of the Star Wars EU back. I started reading the Legacy of the Force series, which is... again a new direction for the SW universe. Given that I already know two big spoilers, I'm not that surprised at the darker tone, but it takes some getting used to. Also, dear Karen Traviss, I like your writing style in general, but if you were a fanfic writer, I'd call you out on OOC on so many levels! That? That is not Boba Fett. Not for me. And Mara would cut off Luke's other hand for calling her "honey". Just sayin'. *snorts* Oh well. In a multi-authored series, I'm expecting things like that. *shrugs*
On to other things.
Saturday was the miraculous day of a) no appointments for me, b) no appointments for my parents, and c) weather forecast predicted sunshine. And it was the day of the Neuharlingersieler Kutterregatta. You might know Neuharlingersiel as my favorite holiday spot to reload my batteries, a.k.a the town without internet hotspots. *g* Located at the North sea shore, and it's the harbour where the ferries to the island Spiekeroog depart. Small, cute, and lots of fishing boats ("Krabbenkutter"), still active fishing and famous for shrimp. And once a year they have the "Kutterregatta" where all the boats doll up with decorations and they do a race and they take passengers. Also shanty music, food, ice cream and so on:-) Our host family's boat ("Anna I") won third place, yay!
Weather was awesome, place was stuffed with people, wich made me happy. The fishermen are really struggling, and lots of people at the Regatta means some more money for the town.
My photos are up on my Facebook page

Sunday was lazy, Monday too because it was freaking hot. Tuesday I was out and about with my parents again, this time to Elspe Festival im Sauerland. Basically open air western, cowboys and indians, with horses, fights and explosions. My very first fandom, and as soon as I have caught up with y'all, I'm gonna type an entry about it, with pics and vids. :-)
It was a weird weather - we left home at 7:30 am with rain, lightning and about 18 °C, and reached Elspe at 10:15 am with sunshine and 27°C. And it got even warmer. Niiiice, it's so much more fun if it's not raining! :-))
Wednesday I got a haircut, and then went shopping. At 33° C, I went into a shoe shop and said "I know it's weird to ask considering the outside temperature, but do you already have winter shoes?" The lady laughed and said "Yes, but I didn't dare to put them outside yet!"
The day ended with wine, cheese and grapes in my friend's living room. Yeehaw! :-)
Thursday and Friday was freaking hot again, so I just ran a few errands and melted quietly in my corner... until Friday afternoon, when the gates of heaven opened and the flood came. At least that's what it felt like. At one time I honestly expected to see two of every animal walking by... and temperature dropped from 32°C to 20°C within an hour. Whisky. Tango. Foxtrot!
I met up with the girls for dinner, and despite the weather we had a nice evening, even if my dad joked that he would pick us up by rubber boat. *lol*
Saturday was still cooler (I'd even say cold!) but since we had dance class that was okay. :-) We had planned to see an open air production of "Midsummernight's Dream" that evening, but we canceled that due to weather and went to the cinema instead. Since my girls were not in the mood for Captain America or Cowboys and Aliens, we settled for a wonderful funny little movie called "Nothing To Declare", which was awesome. We had popcorn, soda and laughed and giggled the whole time, so I'd say it was a success. :-)
Today was me being lazy again. And work starts again tomorrow, boo! Ah well.
So, I guess that was my week in a nutshell... Hope everyone is well! *smishes all*
