Oh, gosh. I'm squeeeeeing so hard.
I watched Twilight.
And I looooooooooooooooved it! *drools*
I like so much the way Catherine handled the story, I like that she chose some important themes of the book and put them into the movie. And I don't care if the special effects were somehow crappy, or the make-up wasn't the best.
I know that this isn't the best Twilight we could have had, but it's still something.
It's our beloved book that comes true. At least, more true than it already was.
I was so excited of seeing my favourite characters on stage, on the video, acting and doing what I had already imagined in my own thoughts while reading.
But let's start from the characters.
I'm satisfied with Bella. Kirsten Stewart is awesome at acting, she was able to perform such intense moments! And she's so fascinating :O you know, when I saw her on vids or pics I thought "Yeah, it's ok, she's cute". But seeing her acting, moving, speaking...I totally like her.
And I LOVE Robert Pattinson as Edward, now more than ever. He's just my perfect Edward. <333333 When I first saw him in the movie I actually fainted (And I fainted again when I saw Carlisle *lol*). And Rob can act so well. His expressions...someone said he sucks at acting. Please put some glasses on :D I don't know, maybe it's just a matter of tastes. He did looked awesome to me. And he was so prince-charming-like in many scenes. Or a superhero. I squeeeed again when he saved Bella in Port Angeles. He wanted to go back and kill those bad guys and you could see all around his face and body that he was concerned for Bella *___* I love him. But his eyebrows scare me a bit *LOL*
Nothing special to say on Emmett, Alice and Rosalie. Alice was awesome :D Just like the Alice of the book! I loved Ashley's poses, and her smile, oh she was totally my Alice! Jackson Rathbone and Nikki Reed did just their job (Nikki can be so hateful! haha) while I was so sad for Jasper, because he kinda was a background figure. I know that this character will gain importance later in the saga, but still. It felt so good during the baseball match, when he stroke that pose and played around with the club *_* Jasper is ♥
Esme and Carlisle were very handsome, too! I loved it when Carlisle told Rosalie "Bella is part of the family now. We must protect the family". I started screaming "Ohooo this is so much Godfather! Carlisle FTW!" :DDDD
Who's left? Oh, well, Charlie is better in the movie than in the book. I used to find him boring but the whole pepper spray thing *LMAO* And, you know, Billy too. He was quite bearable in the movie. Guess he became annoying later on, in New Moon for example :/
And Jacob!!! *squeeeeees again* He was not so bad with that long hair, was he??? Taylor's got such a smile *_* I can't wait for seeing him in New Moon *__________* <333333
Among other characters, Jessica is just as stupid as in the book, while I was surprised from Mike (oh god, I think I fancy him! Look at him, isn't he just cute?) and Eric! Eric was so amusing :D
I've read that one of the Quileute guys that appeared together with Jacob at La Push's beach is Sam Uley :OOO They both were so ugly! :( I hoped that he would be much better-looking! How could Leah ever fall for him? :S I've got this bad feeling that they won't talk at all of Leah and Sam's relationship in the following movies.
Cam Gigandet did such a good job with James. That guy is too good. James was a perfect hunter, and Cam acted even better than Pattinson in the Ballet Scene (which I totally ADORED, but you probably already knew that), when they fought each other; he was more similar to an angry vampire than Rob was.
I liked Victoria, too, and her attitudes toward James, while (as I expected) I didn't like Laurent at all. I mean, he's no way like the real Laurent of the books. I'm sorry, Edi.
I think we're done with the characters. Now a few words about the scenes.
The movie was naturally a cut of the book, but I can say that Catherine did just fine. She chose the most important scenes, but I guess they would look confusing to who hasn't read the books - actually, I've got confirmation of it. Some friends of mine said that they will read the book in order to get something more out of it.
The biology scene was so amusing :DDD You would really believe Edward was going to puke! Poor Bella, she must have felt so wrong! :D
I enjoyed many other moments when Bella and Edward were just getting to know each other, and they exchanged looks. Edward really looked at her as he would say "I'm gonna eat you" (or, in the Port Angeles restaurant, "I'm gonna get you and shag you over this table") :DDD Ok, you know I'm a pervert.
And the wood. The wood was ♥ (I mean when Edward admits he is a vampire). Edward spoke about his feelings in a way that recalls Midnight Sun (which I never finished reading since Meyer announced she won't go on writing it, but I guess I'd better read it anyway) and I was so happy about it. What else? The Ballet Scene was just perfect, the baseball match is probably one of the best scenes of the whole movie (as every other scene with the Cullen Family) even because of the background song! Vampires playing baseball with "Supermassive Black Hole" = Supermassive squeeeeing :D
Also, I liked that they showed Victoria in the end. It's more a commercial strategy, used to tell people to "keep an eye on the movie to come" :) I liked it because it does looks like Twilight's not a single chapter. It's just the beginning of something better that's on his way to come. They didn't do what they always do with the Harry Potter movies.
Ok I think we're really done now. I'm already looking forward to New Moon's casting *_______* Who will fill the role of our lovely wolf puppies? *_____*
I've already make a banner as a recasting. I'll soon show you.
Bye :****
